Here is a list of terminology used on this wiki.
Technical release related terms
[edit]Game - A video game. More specifically refers to all the releases/ports/recreations and remasters of a game.
Release - A distributed version of a game. This includes all types of releases such as ports, recreations, remasters.
Recreation - A game faithfully made in a completely different engine with minor to no differences.
Remake - To fully recreate and change a game. Remakes produce a different game.
Remaster - A release that adds higher poly/texture/resolution, QoL, extra content and minor to major game changes.
Port - A recompiling of a game's source code to a platform not part of the original release window.
HD Port - A port that uses higher resolution textures/modules that were used during development of the original game.
Art interpretation terms
